Prince leads Hornet women to fourth place finish at NAC Championships

Lyndonville, VT - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon women's cross country team finished fourth in the North Atlantic Conference Championship on Saturday afternoon at the Lyndon Cross Country Trail.  It marked the second straight year that the program finished fourth in the conference.  SUNY Delhi outdistanced Husson University to capture conference honors.

Lyndon sophomore Zosia Prince (Sutton, VT) was nearly able to repeat as individual conference champion.  She completed the 5K course in 22:59.4, but was bested by the University of Maine at Farmington's Katie LeBlanc, who crossed the finish line 53 seconds in front of Prince.

The Hornets' Rachel Valentine (Clarksdale, AZ) finished in 27:33.1, good for 26th place in the field of 63 runners.  Isabelle Tuggle (Norwich, VT) finished 36th with a time of 28:51.6.  Jessica Hillman (Gardener, ME) and Shelby Benton (Sutton, VT) also scored for Lyndon.

Lyndon also earned a point towards the Northern Vermont University President's Cup by virtue of finishing ahead of NVU-Johnson. The Hornets' total of 124 put them in front of the Badgers, who finished with 144.
