Prince, Valentine, Tuggle continue improvement at UNE Invitational

Bitteford, ME - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon women's cross country team continued to build toward November's North Atlantic Conference championship meet with their performance in Saturday's University of New England Invitational.

Zosia Prince (Sutton, VT) was the first Hornet to complete the 5K course, crossing the finish line in 20:49.0, good for 28th place in the field of 133 runners.  Rachel Valentine (Clarksdale, AZ) finished 57th in a time of 22:17.5 and Isabelle Tuggle (Norwich, VT) finished 104th in 25:38.3.

Hornet head coach Hayden Bunnell was pleased with the progress of his runners.  "I saw good improvement in the women today, and we just need to keep being patient with our training and we should be in good shape for the NAC."

The Hornets will take next weekend off.  The next meet on the schedule will be the Vermont State Collegiate Meet, hosted this year by Castleton University, on Friday, September 27th.  Race time is 4:30 pm.
