Hornet volleyball seniors honored at Johnson quad

Johnson, VT - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon volleyball team saw its 2019 season come to a close at Sunday's North Atlantic Conference quad match, hosted by NVU-Johnson.  The Hornets dropped both of their contests by 3-0 margins, the first to SUNY Delhi and the second to SUNY Canton.  Lyndon finishes winless in 17 matches, including six NAC contests.  Delhi concludes their regular season at 12-13, including 3-3 in the NAC, while Canton finishes the regular season at 8-20, including 5-1 in conference.

SUNY Delhi 3, NVU-Lyndon 0 (25-6, 25-6, 25-9)

The Broncos dominated the contest, recording 23 kills to none for the Hornets.  Witchney Clersainville led Delhi with eight kills and Erica Prindle recorded 13 assists.  Cassie Black (Tolland, CT) had four digs for the Hornets.

SUNY Canton 3, NVU-Lyndon 0 (25-6, 25-4, 25-3)

The Hornets didn't fare any better in the nightcap, as Canton had the better of the play throughout.  Marissa Ixtlahuac had a team best five of Canton's 23 kills and Ashton Houppert posted 12 assists.  Black, Emily Clancy (Durham, CT), and Paige Daley (Pleasant Valley, NY) each had a kill for Lyndon.  Vanessa Soares (Naugatuck, CT) had a pair of assists while Clancy and Rachel Palladino (Manlius, NY) each recorded three digs.

Prior to the match, Lyndon's two seniors, Fahari Achinda (Hinesburg, VT) and Oo Mai Be (Winooski, VT) were recognized for their contributions to the Hornet volleyball program.
