Leicester, MA - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon volleyball team traveled to Becker College for a non-conference matchup on Wednesday evening. The host Hawks posted a 25-3, 25-12, 25-11 victory to improve to 6-14 on the season. The Hornets remain winless in 11 starts.
Gillian Criddle and Ariana Gordan paced Becker with six and five kills respectively as the Hawks owned a 24-7 advantage in kills. Emily Clancy (Surham, CT) and Vanessa Soares (Naugatuck, CT) recorded three kills apiece for the Hornets. Jenna Savoie recorded 11 assists for Becker while Cassie Black (Tolland, CT) had three assists for Lyndon.
The Hornets struggled to receive serve most of the night as Becker posted 30 service aces, with Morgan Gould recording 16 of them. Joanna Bampi logged 12 of Becker's 26 digs while Clancy led the Hornets with four digs.
The Hornets travel to the University of Maine at Presque Isle for a quad match this Saturday. Lyndon starts off with a non-conference match against the University of Maine at Fort Kent at noon, then plays the host UMaine-Presque Owls at 4:00 pm.
