Hornet volleyball drops non-conference matchup to Anna Maria

Lyndonville, VT - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon volleyball team's first win of the season continued to elude them on Sunday afternoon, as they fel 3-0 to Anna Maria College in Stannard Gymnasium.  The AMCATS prevailed 25-5, 25-5, 25-9 and improved to 2-5 on the season, while the Hornets remain winless in eight starts.

Anna Maria recorded 31 service aces in the 75 points that they won.  Hannah Mitchell led the way with ten aces and Cara Bromley and Bella Kozciak added seven.  Kozciak, Jenna Grande, and Ashley Sheehan each posted three kills while Bromley recorded nine assists.

Emily Clancy (Durham, CT) posted Lyndon's only kill of the afternoon and Cassie Black (Tolland, CT) was credited with the assist.  Vanessa Soares (Naugatuck, CT) led the Hornets with three digs.

The Hornets will play next on Tuesday evening when they travel to Castleton University for their third meeting with the Spartans this season.  Match time is 7 pm.
