NVU-Lyndon releases 2019 Volleyball schedule

Lyndonville, VT - Northern Vermont University-Lyndon has released its 2019 volleyball schedule. The Hornets currently have 20 matches scheduled, with only four home contests on the docket.

The Hornets open the season on August 30th and 31st at the Vermont Volleyball Classic, hosted this season by NVU-Johnson.  The two NVU campuses will join Castleton University and Norwich University in competing for state bragging rights.

The following weekend Lyndon goes back to Johnson for a non-conference tri-match with the Badgers and Mitchell College.

The Hornets will open the home portion of thier schedule with a pair of non-conference matches on September 14th and September 21st.  Castleton comes to Stannard Gymnasium on September 14th and Anna Maria College visits on September 22nd.

Following a return match at Castleton, the Hornets will join Worcester State University for a tri-match at Plymouth State University on October 5th.

The Hornets will open North Atlantic Conference play with a home match against NVU-Johnson on October 9th.  Three days later Lyndon will host their final home match, a non-conference tilt with Salem State University.

Following a non-conference match at Becker College on October 16th the Hornets will close the season with three consecutive Saturday quad matches.  On October 19th they travel to the University of Maine at Presque Isle for a NAC match against the host Owls and a non-conference contest against UMaine-Fort Kent.  The following weekend the Hornets will play a pair of NAC matches against Maine Maritime Academy and Husson University at MMA.  The regular season will wrap up with a NAC quad match at NVU-Johnson on November 2nd, with the Hornets taking on SUNY Canton and SUNY Delhi.

The top four finishers in the conference standings will qualify for the NAC championship tournament. The regular season champion will host the conference tournament on Saturday and Sunday, November 9th and 10th.

Lyndon will be looking to rebound from a 2018 campaign that saw the Hornets go winless in 22 matches.
