Bangor, ME - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon women's tennis team began their weekend swing to Maine with a North Atlantic Conference match at Husson University on Saturday afternoon. The host Eagles swept the matchup, 9-0, to improve to 5-1 on the season and 3-0 in NAC play. The Hornets fall to 2-5 overall and 1-2 in conference.
Husson took control right from the onset by rolling through doubles play. In first doubles the Eagle duo of Hannah Malinn and Natalie Tilton downed the Hornet pairing of Emilie Dube (Bristol, CT) and Savannah Jackson (Barre, VT), 8-1. Husson captured second and third doubles without losing a game.
In singles play, Jackson fell to Julia O'Leary 6-2, 6-2 at #3. Lyndon failed to win more than a game in any of the other five flights.
The Hornets conclude their trip with a NAC match at Thomas College Sunday afternoon at 11:00 am.
