Lyndon men's cross country competes well at New England Regional

Brunswick, ME - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon men's cross country team wrapped up their season at the NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship today.  Runners battled both the cold and the Bowdoin College 8K course.  The Hornets ran incomplete as a team as Williams College captured the regional championship.  Aidan Ryan of Williams was the individual winner, finishing in 24:51.6.

Christopher Chichester (Orleans, VT) was Lyndon's top finisher, crossing the finish line in 27:34.0, good for 148th place among 384 runners.  Michael Bear (Colchester, CT) finished in 30:17.1 and Peter Gilding (St. Johnsbury, VT) finished in 36:08.4.

Hornet head coach Hayden Bunnell was generally pleased with his athletes' performance.  "It was cold conditions out there, but the Men fared pretty well.  Chris and Mike ran well. Peter struggled a bit but overall he had a pretty good first year in doing cross country."

The Hornets are expected to return their complete roster in 2020, as there are no seniors on the team.
