Springfield, MA - In their final tuneup for the North Atlantic Conference Championships in two weeks, three Northern Vermont University-Lyndon men's cross country runners ran for personal bests in Saturday's Western New England University Invitational. The Hornets were incomplete as a team, as Bridgewater State University captured team honors.
Christopher Chichester (Orleans, VT) completed the 8K course in 27:58. He finished 22nd in the field of 182 runners. Michael Bear (Colchester, CT) finished in 30.43. Peter Gilding (St. Johnsbury, VT) crossed the finish line in 34:57, shaving almost three minutes off of his previous personal best.
Hornet head coach Hayden Bunnell is pleased with the direction that his runners are heading. "All the men ran personal bests and I was impressed with Peter's almost three minute personal record. We hope transition that into NAC in two weeks."
The Hornets will host the NAC Championships on Saturday, November 2nd. The men's race will start at 11:00 am.
