Hornet men unable to keep up with Pine Manor

Lyndonville, VT - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon men's soccer team fell to Pine Manor College 5-0 on Varsity Field Sunday afternoon.  With the loss the Hornets fall to 0-2-1 on the season, while the Gators win their third straight to improve to 3-1-1.

Pine Manor controlled the game throughout, outshooting the Hornets 36-4 and owning a 58%-42% advantage in possession.  Five different players scored for the Gators, with Noe Vasquez and Oscar Uriel Roque finding the net in the first half and Hector Romero, Yanes Seidi, and Noel Rios following suit in the second half.

Lyndon goalkeeper Cooper Stafford (Wesminster, VT) made 13 saves in his first collegiate start, while Pine Manor keeper Angel Salazar was only calld on to make one save in recording the clean sheet.

The Hornets' season opening homestand continues on Wednesday afternoon when Dean College visits Varsity Field.  kickoff is slated for 2:00 pm.
