Hornets struggle to get anything going at Sarah Lawrence

Bronxville, NY - The Northern Vermont University-Lyndon men's basketball team struggled to get anything going at either end of the floor on Thursday night.  As a result, the Hornets came up on the short end of a 103-79 final score in a non-conference game at Sarah Lawrence College.  The Hornets fall to 2-3 on the season while the Gryphons improve to 3-1.

After the Hornets took a 5-2 lead early, Sarah Lawrence went on a 13-0 run to take control.  Lyndon was able to narrow the gap back to five points, but the hosts responded by running out to a 53-34 halftime advantage.  The closest that the Hornets got in the second half was 11 points, as Sarah Lawrence answered every Hornet spurt.

Enike Anyia had a huge game for Sarah Lawrence, as he converted 12 of 15 shots and tallied 32 points while grabbing nine rebounds.  Omar Jamaleddine added 19 points and seven rebounds and Liam Barry chipped in 12 points.  Peyton Olsen (Middleburgh, NY) paced the Hornets with 19 points and Jahleel Gabriel (Springfield, MA) posted a double double with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Sarah Lawrence outrebounded Lyndon, 54-36, and forced 26 Hornet turnovers while committing 21 themselves.

The Hornets return to action on Saturday afternoon when they play at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, at 1:00 pm.
