Lyndonville, VT - Lyndon State College women's cross country runners Sierra Hargrave (St. Johnsbury, VT) and Elizabeth Start (Randolph, VT) were among the student athletes honored by the North Atlantic Conference when conference awards were announced on Wednesday. Hargrave received 2nd Team All-Conference recognition by virtue of her top 15 finish in the NAC Championship meet last Saturday. Start was named to the NAC Women's Cross Country Sportsmanship Team, an honor reserved for those who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. Sportsmanship Team honorees are individuals who have positively affected the sport culture and environment and whose behavior clearly demonstrates sportsmanship and integrity.
Hargrave, a senior applied psychology and human services major, capped off her Lyndon career with a 12th place finish in last Saturday's NAC Championship. She completed the 5K course in 22:01. Start finished 45th in the NAC race, crossling the finish line in 25:21.
Hargrave, Start, and the Hornets will race next in the NCAA New England Regionals, hosted by the University of Southern Maine on Saturday, November 11th. Race time is set for 12:00 noon.
