Salvadore sets three school records and qualifies for NCAA Regionals

Dartmouth, MA - Lyndon State College senior Abby Salvadore (Portsmouth, NH) set a new college record in the javelin at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Corsair Classic on Saturday.  She broke her own record with a distance of 36.76 meters, good for 3rd place overall, and qualified for the NCAA Division III New England Championships.  Salvadore also had personal bests and school records in the Discus and Shot Put with distances of 29.89 and 9.66 meters and finishing in 4th and 5th place respectively.

Jessica Hillman (Gardiner, ME) debuted in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 19.02, finishing in 9th place.  She also beat her own school record in the 200 meters with a time of 29.24, good for 9th place.

Hornet coach Hayden Bunnell was pleased with both women.  "Both Abby and Jessica had good days, with improvements each week they should be able to do really well in the NAC Championships later at the end of the month."

The Hornets return to action next Saturday at the Mount Holyoke College Spring Fling Invitational.  The meet starts at 10:00 am.
