LYNDON CENTER, Vt. – The Lyndon State College women's soccer team faced off against the University of Maine at Farmington Saturday afternoon in their North Atlantic Conference opener, dropping the contest 10-0.
The Beavers controlled the flow of the game winning multiple 50-50 balls and getting 33 shots off. Ashley Gleason, Bridget Humphrey, and Lydia Roy left the field with two goals apiece. Haley Murano, Katie Clark, Brittney Sieg, and Tori McLaughlin each contributed a goal to finish out the 10-0 sweep.
Though a few Hornets left the game due to injuries, the hosts still gave it all they had until the end.
Johanna Sargent (West Brookfield, Vt.) (2-4-0) finished out the afternoon with seven saves for the Hornets.
Kiana Thompson (2-1-0) picked up the win for the Beavers.
Lyndon (2-4-0, 0-1 NAC) takes the week off and will host Green Mountain College Saturday, September 24th at 3:30 p.m.
Farmington hosts Gordon College at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20th.
