Hornets bested by Cardinals

PLATTSBRUGH, N.Y. – The Lyndon State College women's soccer team dropped a non-conference game with Plattsburgh State 11-1 Sunday afternoon at the Field House Soccer Complex.

Four Cardinals, Madeline Saccocio, Ashlie Guinness, Cait Gagen, and Sarah Haight, tallied two goals apiece while Saccocio and Guinness added an assist each.

Larissa Gemberling (Mechanicsburg, Penn.) scored the lone goal for the Hornets Sunday after scoring the winning goal against Mitchell the day before.  Shelby Sheridan (Enosburg Falls, Vt.) set up Gemberling for a one on one with the goalie who skillfully placed the ball past the keeper in the 70th minute.

Johanna Sargent (West Brookfield, Vt.) made 11 saves for the Hornets in the loss.

Lyndon (2-2-0, 0-0 NAC) travels to Pine Manor Tuesday afternoon for a 3:30 p.m. start.
