Stearns Takes Reins of Women's Lacrosse Program

LYNDON CENTER, Vt. – The Lyndon State College Athletic Department is pleased to announce the hiring of Emily Stearns as the second head coach of the women's lacrosse program.

"I'm very excited for the women's lacrosse program," athletic director Chris Ummer expressed.  "Emily has an exceptional background with experience at the high school, college, and international level.  She clearly has the knowledge to build this sport at Lyndon as well as provide our student-athletes with experiences beyond that of just lacrosse."

Stearns brings over eight years of coaching experience to a program going into just its second season.  Most recently, Stearns was the director and head coach of the Boston Aces Girls' Lacrosse Club.

Stearns started her coaching career as the head coach of the Scotland Lacrosse Association in 2001 after a successful playing career at Lehigh University where she was a two-time First Team All-Patriot League selection as well as a Second Team selection.  She completed a stint as the head coach at Fettes College with stops at Norwell High School and Milton High School, including a Division State Championship at Norwell in 2009.
