Hornets edge Falcons

BOSTON, Mass. – The Lyndon women's basketball team came from behind to pick up their first win of the 2015-16 season Tuesday night at Fisher College by a score of 68-63.

A slow first quarter from the Hornets left the Falcons in front 17-11.  The Hornets were able to chip away at that lead to finish the half down one.

Lyndon took their first lead of the game just 23 seconds into the second half as Brittney LaFreniere found Marley Harmon for a jumper. 

The teams exchanged leads a few times before the Hornets found themselves down six with 3:34 to play.  From there the Hornets would go on a 13-2 run powered by Mikayla Hodge and LaFreniere to take the win.

Hodge would finish the game with an impressive 21 points and 21 rebounds.  LaFreniere finished with 18 points and nine rebounds while Harmon chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Fisher's Madison Carroll led all scorers with 23 while Murphy Carroll chipped in 15 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists.

The 1-1 Hornets host Norwich University Thursday night at 7:00 p.m.
