LYNDON CENTER, Vt. – The 2014-15 season has been a memorable one for Mikayla Hodge, a freshman center on the Lyndon women's basketball team. In addition to becoming an important factor in the Hornets' recent resurgence on the court, she has also rounded into one of the top first-year players in the North Atlantic Conference.
Hodge continued to build her legacy Monday as the NAC named her Rookie of the Week for the fifth time this season on the strength of a 24-point, 31-rebound effort over the past several days.
The Newbury, Vt. resident averaged 7.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, and two assists in a 2-1 week for Lyndon. She recorded six points, 11 rebounds, two steals and two blocks in a 76-37 win over Green Mountain before tallying her seventh double-double of the season with 10 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and four blocks in a 69-59 loss to UMaine-Farmington.
Hodge finished the week with a seven point, 10 rebound performance to go along with two assists and one block in Lyndon's 67-50 win over Thomas.
