LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Angela Locke hit two free throws with 1.6 seconds left in the game to propel the Johnson State women's basketball team to a thrilling 69-67 win over Lyndon Tuesday.
Andrea Deuell led the Badgers with 15 points, including a 5-for-7 effort from beyond the three-point arc, while Maria Gleason chipped in 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists. Claudia Martineau, who was in foul trouble for most of the contest, chipped in 11 points for Johnson.
Naomi White (Danville, Vt.) had 24 points and 12 rebounds in the loss for the Hornets while teammate Donna Lawson (Irasburg, Vt.) added 16 points and 13 rebounds. Stephanie Barclay (Woodbury, Vt.) had a team-high five assists and 10 steals for Lyndon.
