LYNDON CENTER, Vt. — Fresh off its third-place finish at the 2014 North Atlantic Conference Championship Tournament, the Lyndon Softball Team continued to shine with three selections to the All-NAC 2nd Team.
Davis, a pitcher and Natural Science major from North Haverhill, N.H., led the NAC in strikeouts with 98 and was third in wins with nine. She allowed 73 earned runs in 161 and two-third innings pitched and completed 24 of her 25 starts. At the plate, she hit .348 with two doubles, one triple and seven runs-batted in while compiling a slugging percentage of .435.
Finnegan, a shortstop and Sustainability Studies major from Keeseville, N.Y., hit .337 for the season to go along with 32 hits and16 runs scored, She had two doubles, three triples and one home run – a grand slam – to her credit and knocked in 16 runs. Finnegan had a slugging percentage of .453 and an on-base-percentage of .400.
The 2014 campaign was a breakout season for Emery, a Business Administration major from Johnson, Vt., who hit .314 while collecting 27 hits and 22 runs scored. She had three doubles, two triples and one home run on the season driving in a team-high 17 runs. Emery slugged at a .430 clip and had an on-base-percentage of.416. She also led the team in walks with 14 and fielded .933 from her customary third base position.
The trio led the Hornets to a No. 5 seeding in the recently-completed NAC Championships where they finished third for a second consecutive season.
