Hornet Men Place 48th at NCAA New England Regionals

Gorham, ME - The Lyndon State College men's cross country team placed 48th out of 55 full teams at today's NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships, hosted by the University of Southern Maine at the Gorham Country Club.  The Hornets were led by junior Benjamin Cornell (Burrilville, RI) with A 220th place finish in a time of 29:40.  Cornell was followed by fellow junior Matt Francis (Freeport, ME) in 266th place (30:59) and sophomore Brian Corrigan (Andover, MA) in 267th (31:00).  Completing the scoring for the Hornets were senor Darren Williams (Wiesbaden, Germany) in 348th place and fellow senior CJ Jimmy (Modesto, CA) in 367th place.  Massachusetts Institute of Technology won the regional meet placing five runners in the top 30 places.

"Very pleased with the effort put in today with the frigid conditions," said Lyndon Coach Chris Ummer.  "This group of men continue to improve and develop.  With some additions next season this team will give the NAC a run for the championship."
