Farmington, ME - The Lyndon State College men's cross country team notched a 7th place team finish, out of 11 teams, at today's North Atlantic Conference Championships, hosted by the University of Maine at Farmington. The Hornets were led by junior Benjamin Cornell (Burrilville, RI) with a 13th place finish in a time of 29:15. Cornell was followed by sophomore Brian Corrigan (Andover, MA) in 26th place and junior Matt Francis (Freeport, ME) in 28th place. Completing the scoring for the Hornets were senor Darren Williams (Wiesbaden, Germany) in 64th place and fellow senior CJ Jimmy (Modesto, CA) in 85th place. Colby-Sawyer College won their second consecutive men's title.
"The men had a strong effort today," said Lyndon Coach Chris Ummer. "Their best team effort by far. W ith one race left and a few more weeks to prepare they're only going to get faster."
The men will race next on November 11th at the NCAA Regional Championship hosted by the University of Southern Maine in Gorham, ME. The race will start at 11:00 am.
