Hornet runners compete at Williams College Plansky Invitational

Williamstown, MA – Under perfectly clear blue skies and unseasonably warm temperatures, the Lyndon State College men's and women's cross country teams completed with athletes from four other colleges at the Plansky Invitational, held at Mt. Greylock High School, in a coed 5k race.  In addition to the Hornets, other teams competing included Williams College, SUNY Cobleskill, Dean College, and Johnson State College.

Although the meet was not scored, the both teams ran well in preparation of their upcoming conference championship race.  Junior Benjamin Cornell (Burrilville, RI) led the Hornets with a time of 18:50 for the men, while freshman Ashley Darrell (Concord, VT) finished with a time of 23:23 and led the women.

The men and women race next on October 28th at the North Atlantic Conference Championships, host by the University of Maine-Farmington, and held at Mount Blue High School.  The men's race will begin at 11:00 am, with the women's race to follow at noon.
