The Men's Cross Country Team Places 44th at NCAA Regional Championships

WESTFIELD, Mass. - The Hornet men's cross country team, led by senior Ayan Cole (Lyndonville, Vt.) in a personal best time of 27:15, 139th place (381 in total) overall, closed out their season by finishing 44th (56 teams) at the NCAA Regional/New England Championships.  Cole was followed by sophomore Ben Cornell (Burrilville, R.I.) in 28:18 with fellow sophomore Matt Francis (Freeport, Maine) completing the 8K course in a time of 29:37.  Francis also recorded a personal best.  Rounding out the scoring for the Hornets was freshman Brian Corrigan (Hanover, Mass.) and fellow freshman DaVonte Martinez (Monument Valley, Utah) in time of 30:23 (personal best) and 33:09 respectively.

"Similar to the women, we had strong individual efforts today," said Coach Ummer.  "Three personal best performances is an excellent way to end the season and that was led by Ayan.  The way I like to see seniors finish their collegiate running career is with a solid performance.  Ayan did just that, and more, as he clocked a personal best.  Ayan's collegiate running career has been one of slow, steady progress and his solid results are always reliable."
