BOSTON, Mass. – The Lyndon men's cross country ran to a 36th place team finish at the 2015 New England Open Championship Meet held at Franklin Park in Boston. The race, featuring NCAA Division teams of all levels, was dominated by Division I teams. Junior Ayan Cole (Lyndonville, Vt.) led the way for the Hornets with a strong performance on his way to a 215th place finish overall with a time of 27:53 over the 8-kilometer course. Cole was followed by senior Josh Hopmans (Hinsdale, NH) in a time of 28:35 and senior Tim LaRoche in a time of 28:52. Freshman Ben Cornell (Burrilville, RI) was fourth on the day for the Hornets in 28:59. Senior Dylan Robichaud completed the scoring with a time of 29:28. The Hornet's next race is on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Connecticut College Invitational on New London, CT.
"Honestly it's not the results we were looking for," said Head Coach Chris Ummer. "While Ayan ran very well as did Ben, Tim was clearly off today and Josh was not at full health. We need to get everyone on the same page within the next few weeks if we want a legitimate chance to defend our NAC title."
