RANDOLPH CENTER, Vt. – The Lyndon men's cross country team notched another second place team finish at the 2014 Vermont State Intercollegiate Championship Meet held at Vermont Technical College.
Senior Tyler Scheibenpflug (Wolcott, Conn.) led the way for the Hornets with a strong performance on his way to a second place finish overall with a time of 27:41 over the hilly and wet 8-kilometer course.
"I'm quite pleased with the men's effort today," said Head Coach Chris Ummer. "Kenedi and Tyler ran as expected and Tim really stepped it up today. He gave us a glimpse of what he's capable of. On a course that was as challenging as this one and under the conditions, all team members performed very well."
Scheibenpflug was followed by fellow senior Kenedi Hall (Hartland, Vt.) in third place in a time of 28:11 and junior Tim LaRoche (South Hadley, Mass) in seventh place in a time of 28:46.
Junior Josh Hopmans (Hinsdale, N.H.) was 12th on the day in 29:31. The Hornet's next race is on Saturday, Oct. 11 at the New England Open Championships held in Franklin Park, Mass.
