SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Lyndon men's cross country team put in a strong performance at the Western New England University Invitational finishing second in a field of 19 teams.
The team was paced by senior Kyle Powers (Waterbury, Vt.) with an individual overall win (3rd of the season) in a time of 26:01 over the eight-kilometer course. Powers was followed by junior Tyler Scheibenpflug (Wolcott, Conn.) in 3rd place overall in a time of 26:13 in a field of 185 total runners.
Scheibenpflug was followed by junior Kenedi Hall (Hartland, Vt.) in a time of 26:42. Rounding out the top five Hornet finishers was freshman Aaron Bellomo (Hudson, N.H.) in 27:03 and sophomore Josh Hopmans (Hinsdale, Mass.) in 28:05.
Both Bellomo and Hopmans ran to personal best 8K times.
