Northfield, VT - The Lyndon State College men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 non-comference decision to Norwich University on Thursday afternoon. The loss leaves the Hornets at 0-4 on the season, while Norwich improved to 4-1.
Lyndon's first doubles team of Jake LaCerda (Gray, ME) and Neal Mulligan (Marshfield, VT) dropped a competitive 8-3 decision to Norwich's Dylan Ackerman (Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands) and Alexi Gilmore (Haverhill, MA). Ackerman also defeated LaCerda 6-2, 6-2 at first singles. The Hornets were unable to capture more than a single game in any of the other flights.
Lyndon is scheduled to open North Atlantic Conference play on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm at Castleton University. Norwich will host Regis College on Saturday.
