NASHUA, N.H. – The Lyndon State College men's lacrosse team picked up a non-conference victory over Wheelock College Wednesday evening, 12-5.
Ian Pelkey (Milton, Vt.) led the Hornet offense with two goals and two assists. Kevin McCarthy (West Sayville, N.Y.) recorded a hat trick while Justin Mosher (Salem, N.H.), Shea Jones (Hull, Mass.), and Spencer Aubin (Sharon, Mass.) added a pair of goals each.
Eddie Romera scored two goals and tallied one assist to lead the Wildcats.
The Hornets jumped out to a 3-0 lead within the first six minutes of the game but the Wildcats answered with two of their own to cut the lead to 3-2 after one quarter.
Lyndon went on to score three goals in each of the next three quarters while holding Wheelock to just one goal per quarter.
Shane Morin (Salem, N.H.) notched the win in the crease making 10 saves for the Hornets.
Noah Horning took the loss for the Wildcats while stopping five shots.
The Hornets (5-7, 4-3 NAC) visit Maine-Farmington on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. to finish out the regular season.
Wheelock (5-7, 0-3 NECC) returns to action on Saturday when they face Becker in New England Collegiate Conference play on the road at 10:00 a.m.
