Lynch to Lead Women's Basketball Program

LYNDON CENTER, Vt. –  The Athletic Department is pleased to announce the hiring of Sean Lynch as the head coach of the Lyndon State College Women’s Basketball program.

“Sean’s focus will be on building a championship program through skill development and establishing commitment to teamwork,” said Lyndon Director of Athletics Chris Ummer. “In addition, Sean understands the importance of team leadership development and will make that a vital piece of the program he develops.” Sean recently coached at Shining Mountain Waldorf School in Colorado where he guided the Lions to a 54-16 record over that past three years and led them to the state championships game in 2016. In addition, Sean served as an assistant women’s basketball coach for Middlebury College program in 2012-13.

 “I am very excited to join the Lyndon St. College Community as the new head women's basketball coach”, stated Lynch. “I am looking forward to the challenge and hard work of building a championship-level program that focuses on leadership development, teamwork and a commitment to excellence. I have been provided a wonderful opportunity and I can't wait to show my appreciation by doing this job to the best of my ability.” 

Lynch, a California native, was a standout point guard on his state championship high school team in 2005. In 2016 he was named the Colorado 1A District 8 high School Basketball Coach of the Year. While serving as the Middlebury College coach in 2012-13, Middlebury had its most successful team in the past 10 years. Lynch is graduate of University of California, Santa Cruz with B.A. in Psychology.
